SLAYER Thunder Breathing

Manage SLAYER Thunder Breathing's Thunderclap charges, charged dash, Sixfold refill and movement cloak without assuming unverified balance values.

Thunder Breathing is documented as an Uncommon SLAYER style built around Thunderclap and Flash plus Sixfold. The public card describes a charge-based guardbreaking dash, a longer held version for distance, and a vertical multi-hit move that restores a charge and grants a temporary movement-speed cloak when it lands.

Thunderclap and Flash

The card says Thunderclap can hold three charges while allowing two uses before cooldown, a wording that needs live confirmation. Charges regenerate naturally. Tapping produces a short windup, a forward dash, damage and guardbreak. Holding lengthens the windup and travel distance without changing the documented damage.

Use the tap when the target is already in range and committed. Use the hold only when the extra distance solves a real spacing problem. The longer windup gives the opponent more time to move, block differently or interrupt.

Sixfold

Sixfold is documented as an upward teleporting slash followed by a return sequence with four more damage ticks and a final launch. Landing it restores one Thunderclap charge and applies a thunder cloak that increases movement speed for five seconds.

The reward depends on landing, so do not treat Sixfold as a free resource button. Confirm the starter, watch vertical alignment, and record whether the opponent can escape between the rising hit and return ticks. Use the cloak for the next position decision rather than immediately spending it on another long commitment.

Charge management loop

Begin a fight with the current charge display visible. Spend one Thunderclap only when it creates contact or answers a guard. Preserve another for repositioning or a later block. Attempt Sixfold after a reliable opening, then confirm whether the charge counter increased.

If the public wording and live counter disagree, trust the counter and record the server result. Do not spam Thunderclap until empty simply because regeneration exists; a natural refill may be slow relative to the current exchange.

Tap versus hold

Test both versions from fixed landmarks. The held dash should travel farther according to the card, while damage remains the same. Record windup, distance, tracking, guardbreak result and recovery. If the target is close, the extra range can overshoot or make the timing easier to read.

Use held Thunderclap to solve distance, not to chase a larger damage number. A short tap is usually easier to confirm when you already control the spacing.

Build a practice route

First, tap Thunderclap into a blocking dummy or cooperative target and verify the guardbreak. Second, practice Sixfold after a normal confirmed hit. Third, check that Sixfold restores the expected charge and applies the movement cue. Finally, use the cloak to reset range or maintain safe pressure.

Do not label the entire sequence a true combo until the target cannot block, parry or dash at each transition on the current server. Latency can alter fast movement abilities more than a static description suggests.

Progression and weapon checks

Raise Breathing Level and complete gourd limit breaks at milestone levels. Equip a compatible blade and keep enough Breathing resource for the sequence. If Thunderclap fails, check unlock state, resource, weapon and charge display before assuming a bug.

The current FAQ gives a special sword-node route for Moon Breathing and Black Lightning, not Thunder Breathing. Do not apply that Demon Art instruction to Thunder without a live node telling you to do so.

Common mistakes

  • Spending every Thunderclap charge at the start of the fight.
  • Holding for distance when the target is already close.
  • Using Sixfold without confirmation and losing the charge-refill opportunity.
  • Assuming a movement cloak is an invulnerability window.
  • Reading “three charges, two uses” as settled without checking the live counter.

What still needs testing

The exact charge cap, usable charges, regeneration time, cooldowns, resource cost, damage, guardbreak rules, Sixfold escape points and cloak speed require live verification. The card supports the move relationship and broad roles, not a tier ranking.

Sources and confidence

Thunderclap, Sixfold and the cloak relationship are community reported from the SLAYER public Trello Thunder Breathing card, last activity observed October 26, 2026. Ambiguous charge wording is preserved rather than silently resolved.
