The Demon route in SLAYER centers on Blood Level, Blood Demon Art skill trees, Demon clans and perks. Current documentation says Blood Level unlocks art moves, advances through defeated-enemy consumption or hideout training, and pauses at multiples of five until a heart minigame limit break is completed.

Quick route: confirm your Demon clan and selected art, learn the default body-consumption prompt, raise Blood Level, complete each milestone limit break, and unlock moves through M → Character → Skills. Test perk status in the current client because some documented effects are bugged, disabled or empty.

The current art board also documents Cryokinesis, Moon Breathing, Combustible Blood, Wind Fan and Vector Arrows. Their presence supports a broader roster, while current acquisition, odds and availability remain update-sensitive.

Raise Blood Level

The public Blood Level card lists two routes: eat the bodies of enemies you defeat with the default V key, and perform blood training in the Demon hideout. The input is a default, not a permanent universal binding. Follow the current prompt on controller or a customized setup.

At levels 5, 10, 15, 20 and later multiples of five, the card says Blood Level stops until you limit break. Go to the documented heart in the Demon hideout and complete its minigame. If progress appears frozen, check the milestone before repeating ordinary training.

Unlock the art skill tree

Press M, choose the current character or skills interface, and inspect the Blood Demon Art tree. Missions under the Play menu are documented as a source of normal EXP and money, while Blood Level governs art move access. These progress bars can rise separately.

Unlock one move you can practice safely before chasing the last node. A dependable starter, movement tool or clear guardbreak can improve the route more than a dramatic finisher that you cannot confirm.

Weapon-gated arts

The current FAQ gives a special route for the sword used by Moon Breathing and Black Lightning: open M → Character → Skills, find the bottom-right node that grants Blood Demon Art M1s, and unlock it. Treat the exact node position as update-sensitive. Read the current effect and confirm the weapon appears.

Do not assume every art uses that same weapon gate. Blood Sickle and Destructive Death have different documented move identities. Use the live tree for the selected art.

Read art moves by function

Guardbreak answers blocking, but missing it can expose you. Hyper armor protects some committed actions from ordinary interruption, but not necessarily every grab or guardbreak. A field controls space only while the opponent must respect its repeated hits. Projectiles pressure range but can spread away from a moving target.

Build a route from one confirmed starter, one pressure tool and one safe exit. Add a long barrage only after you know the opponent cannot leave between hits. The art pages describe practice sequences without claiming universal true combos.

Demon clans and perks

Demon clans add passive conditions such as absorption, poison, parry follow-ups, low-health recovery, splash damage, PvP scaling, frost and sustain. Demon perks are a separate roster. Art-specific BDA perks can modify a named moveset.

Keep those layers separate while testing. Compare the base art first, then one clan or perk at a time. The Demon Clans guide explains passive roles, and Demon Perks records disabled-state risks.

Manage Blood and recovery

Current cards use “Blood” both as a progression term and a combat resource. Read the interface context. Blood Level unlocks moves; the Blood bar can be refilled by certain actions or passives. Do not assume an EXP reward or training point fills both systems.

When consuming a defeated enemy, confirm the action is safe and the body is eligible. If V does nothing, check the prompt, binding, faction, target state and whether another menu owns the input.

Common mistakes

  • Confusing normal EXP, training points, Blood Level and the Blood combat bar.
  • Repeating training at a multiple-of-five cap instead of completing the heart limit break.
  • Buying a late art node before learning a reliable starter.
  • Assuming a Trello perk is enabled because its text still exists.
  • Comparing two arts with different clans, perks and stat setups.
  • Spending rerolls on a developer or early-access entry without checking current availability.

End-of-session Demon checklist

Before leaving, record Blood Level, current milestone, unlocked art nodes, Blood-bar behavior, selected clan, active perk and the next intended move. Consume or train once only if the bar is not capped, then confirm the exact change. At a multiple of five, complete the heart minigame before spending on more training. This small checklist keeps four separate systems from blending together and gives you a clean starting point when a server update changes a node, cost or enabled passive.

Sources and confidence

The progression loop, art names, move roles and perk states come from the identity-linked SLAYER Trello, checked October 28, 2026. They are community reported. Exact costs, odds, damage, cooldowns, Blood gain, level thresholds beyond the documented pattern and live enabled state require in-game verification.
