SLAYER Controls

Learn the documented SLAYER PC combat inputs, execute uppercut and downslam, and resolve conflicting Xbox or PlayStation button labels safely.

SLAYER’s current PC combat vocabulary is built around M for the Familiar/menu interface, Q for dash, F for block and timed parry, E for breathing, and mouse attacks that branch into aerial actions. Controller support is documented, but the public card mixes Xbox-style labels under a PlayStation heading and PlayStation-style labels under an Xbox heading. Use the live prompt or Roblox controller glyphs as the final authority.

PC quick reference

M — Familiar/menu

Open activities and character systems. Current FAQ directions use this menu to reach missions and Character → Skills.

Q — Dash

Reposition, escape recovery pressure, or complete the documented flashstep combination when held with the required modifier.

F — Block / parry

Hold to block; time the defensive input against an incoming strike to attempt a parry.

E — Breathe

Refill the Breathing resource used by style skills. Public walkthroughs also show holding E before Q for flashstep.

Ctrl + M1 — Uppercut

Launch the target to start the tutorial's aerial route. Confirm the grounded hit before committing.

Space + M1 — Downslam

After an uppercut, hold Space and use M1 while the target is airborne to drive the sequence down.

R — Guard break

Use against a blocking opponent. Repeated pressure can also break guard, but the direct option is easier to test.

V — Eat body

The Blood Level card lists V as the default Demon input for consuming defeated enemies. Confirm the current prompt before relying on it.

Practice the tutorial chain

Begin at a dummy or low-risk target. Use M1 to understand hit spacing, then add Ctrl + M1 for the uppercut. Once the target is airborne, hold Space and press M1 for the downslam. If the slam fails, isolate the cause: you may have pressed Space too early, lost the target alignment, or allowed the launch height to decay.

Do not turn the two actions into uncontrolled mashing. The chain is useful because it teaches state changes: grounded target, launch, airborne follow-up and knockdown. The Combo guide explains how to confirm each state and when to stop before an escape or parry.

Block, parry and guardbreak

Hold F to learn the full attack string safely. A parry is the timed version of the same defensive idea, not a different universal answer. Start with a slow, clear strike and press at the moment the attack reaches your character. Server latency, multi-hit timing and weapon differences can shift the useful window, so test in the current server.

Use R when the opponent is committed to blocking. Guardbreak is not a free neutral opener; missing it can leave you exposed. If repeated attacks also damage the guard, compare the resource cost and recovery of pressure with the direct guardbreak rather than assuming one always wins.

Breathing, flashstep and resource awareness

Public walkthroughs show E refilling the Breathing bar. Style moves consume that resource, and Breathing Level governs move unlocks. Refill before you need the skill, but do not stand still in an unsafe range. Learn how quickly you can cancel or reposition after breathing in the live build.

The documented PC combination for flashstep is hold E, press Q. Because E also serves the breathing system, verify the actual result in a safe area. If the game prioritizes another state or you are using a controller, follow the prompt and current binding display.

Controller label conflict

The public Trello card has a clear inconsistency: the section labeled PS5 uses names such as LB, RB, LT, RT, Y and B, while the section labeled Xbox uses L1, L2, R1, R2, Triangle, Circle and Touchpad. Those names belong to the opposite controller families. The action mapping may still be useful, but the headings or glyphs appear swapped.

Use action meaning first. The card describes running attack, block, feint, critical, Transparent World, uppercut, Surge/Slayer Mark/Final Form, flashstep, dash, weapon equip and inventory. Open the live controller display, match each action to the glyph shown on your device, and take a screenshot before rearranging anything.

If an input does not work

Check whether the move requires a state: target airborne, opponent blocking, Breathing resource available, weapon equipped, a skill node unlocked, or a Demon body present. Then check whether chat or a menu currently owns the input. Close the panel and test again in a safe area.

For hotbar problems, press Tab and drag moves into the desired slots, as documented by the current FAQ. For a missing Demon Art weapon, open M → Character → Skills and inspect the bottom-right node described by the FAQ. A missing unlock is not always a broken keybind.

Mobile and custom bindings

Mobile controls are touch actions and can move with UI updates, screen size or Roblox layout changes. Use the action label and tutorial highlight instead of a fixed screen coordinate. If Roblox or SLAYER exposes rebinding, your current bindings override every static guide.

Test one change at a time after rebinding. Confirm movement, dash, block, attack, guardbreak, breathing and menu access before joining a difficult activity. Keep a way to reopen settings so an accidental conflict does not strand the character.

Sources and confidence

PC inputs are corroborated by the current public-test walkthrough and the in-game tutorial it documents. Controller actions come from the SLAYER Trello card updated October 27, 2026, but its platform labels are internally inconsistent and therefore require live confirmation. No guide should replace the current on-screen prompt.
