SLAYER progression uses several systems that rise for different reasons. Normal character EXP and money come from general activities. Training minigames add extra stat points. Slayer characters advance Breathing Level and complete Final Selection before forging a Nichirin. Demon characters advance Blood Level and unlock Blood Demon Art moves. Treating these as one bar creates most early confusion.

Quick route: finish the tutorial, build a reliable defense, spend training currency gradually, follow the faction-specific objective, and check milestone limit breaks when ability progress stops. Use the current objective text when it conflicts with an older description.

Progression route index

Slayer trial

Final Selection

Prepare for the mountain activity, decide solo or party, follow the live counter, and recover from a failed run.

Open Final Selection

Slayer weapon

Nichirin Katana

Use the documented ore reward, travel to Ivory Passage, find the Blacksmith and confirm Breathing forms work with the forged blade.

Forge a Nichirin

Extra stats

Training Points

Choose faction-specific minigames for Strength, Prowess, Vitality or Agility, and understand reset and Master Seal documentation.

Plan training

Slayer ability level

Breathing Level

Use unlocked forms and hideout training, then complete gourd limit breaks at documented milestone levels.

Raise Breathing Level

Demon ability level

Blood Level

Consume eligible bodies or train in the Demon hideout, then use the heart minigame at milestone caps.

Raise Blood Level

Separate the progress bars

Normal EXP increases general progression. Training points add extra stat investment beyond level. Breathing Level or Blood Level unlocks faction ability moves. Currency pays for activities or purchases. A code can grant EXP and Yen without directly completing a Breathing or Blood limit break.

When progress appears stuck, identify the exact bar and action. A locked style node points to Breathing Level. A Blood Demon Art node points to Blood Level. A stat cap may point to training limits. A mission requirement may point to normal level or a completed activity.

Slayer route

After the tutorial, use hideout training to strengthen the stats that support your route. Enter Final Selection only when block, parry and a short punish are consistent. The current public-test walkthrough found a conflict between the mode description and the active goal, so follow the live objective and counter.

Passing is documented to award Nichirin Ore. Travel through the current menu to Ivory Passage, follow the forge objective and use the Blacksmith. Confirm the Nichirin appears in the loadout. Breathing forms that reject the wooden blade should then become usable when their other gates are met.

Advance Breathing Level by using already unlocked moves and training. At multiples of five, complete the gourd minigame limit break before expecting more level gain.

Demon route

Demon characters advance Blood Level by consuming defeated enemies with the default V prompt and by using Blood training in the Demon hideout. At multiples of five, use the documented heart minigame to limit break.

Open M → Character → Skills for the Blood Demon Art tree. Unlock a practical starter or movement tool before chasing a final node. Missions can grant normal EXP and money, but they do not replace the Blood Level gate described by the current card.

Train with a budget

Public-test values have shown costs for some training stations, forms and limit-break items, but prices can change. Read the live cost and keep enough Yen for the next required route step. Training everything at once can leave the character stronger on paper but unable to pay for the activity that unlocks the next system.

Choose one weakness: damage, survivability, Prowess or movement. Use the matching documented station, record the gain, and stop when the next point is less valuable than preserving currency.

Handle milestone caps

Both Breathing Level and Blood Level are documented with limit breaks at multiples of five. A full bar that does not advance is not necessarily a bug. Go to the correct faction hideout object—the gourd for Slayers or heart for Demons—and complete the minigame.

If progress still fails, confirm the exact level, current objective, resource and server. Avoid repeating paid training until the cap is resolved.

Solo versus party progression

Final Selection supports a party in current public coverage, but a death can return the group to the hub. A party helps with pressure and target control only when players stay coordinated. Do not let one member rush far enough to split spawns or hide the live counter.

Training and ability leveling may be more efficient solo because you control the test conditions. Use a squad for activities that reward coordination, not to obscure which action raised a bar.

Common mistakes

  • Confusing normal EXP, training points, ability level and combat resources.
  • Spending all Yen before a required activity or weapon step.
  • Repeating training at a limit-break cap.
  • Entering Final Selection with no reliable defensive loop.
  • Buying Breathing forms before forging a compatible blade.
  • Unlocking late Demon Art nodes without a usable starter.

Keep a progression record

Record current level, faction ability level, training-point total, currency, next objective and current cap. Add the live cost and result of one action. A five-line record makes it easy to identify which system actually moved and protects against outdated guide values.

Sources and confidence

The route is community corroborated by the SLAYER public Trello and a detailed October 19, 2026 public-test walkthrough. Official Roblox sources confirm identity, not gameplay values. Exact costs, rewards, objectives, training gains, wipe plans and thresholds beyond the documented milestone pattern need live verification.
