SLAYER Water Breathing

Learn SLAYER Water Breathing's dash, knockback, hyper-armor guardbreak and long combo roles with a safe testing route.

Water Breathing is documented as a Common SLAYER style with Water Wheel, Mopped, Water Basin, Riptide Crash and Constant Flux. The set covers approach, knockback, two hyper-armored guardbreaks and a long moving combo. “Common” describes its documented rarity, not a verdict on usefulness.

Water moveset

Water Wheel

Dash forward and slash three times in a circle, with the third hit sending enemies away. Use it to approach only when you can manage the ending distance.

Mopped

Two horizontal slashes with knockback on the second. Its short structure makes it useful for learning confirmed enders.

Water Basin

A short-windup, hyper-armored downward crash documented to guardbreak. Create the opening before committing.

Riptide Crash

Jump with hyper armor, then swing down with a guardbreak. Test vertical tracking and landing recovery in the live build.

Constant Flux

Eight consecutive slashes while moving forward. Treat it as a long commitment that needs strong confirmation.

The public card establishes the move identities and roles. It does not prove exact damage, cooldowns, armor coverage or true combo windows.

Start with the short moves

Practice Mopped first. Confirm the first slash, observe the second-hit knockback, and decide whether the route should end or chase. Then add Water Wheel as an approach that also changes position. If the third hit pushes the target out, do not queue a short-range move automatically.

Short routes make mistakes visible. When an attack fails, you can tell whether range, timing or opponent defense caused it. Constant Flux hides those lessons inside a long animation, so save it until the starter is reliable.

Use guardbreaks by condition

Water Basin and Riptide Crash are both documented with hyper armor and guardbreak. They approach from different shapes: a downward crash after a windup and a jump into a descending swing. Test which one fits a visible block, corner or vertical situation.

Hyper armor does not mean the move cannot lose to every control effect or take damage. Test against ordinary hits, guardbreaks and grabs separately. Missing a guardbreak can create a long punish window.

Constant Flux as a commitment test

Eight moving slashes can carry you across space and maintain contact, but the current card does not say every hit is guaranteed. Test after a confirmed stun or strong opening. Count where a target can block, dash or parry, and stop using the full string when a shorter route is safer.

Near walls, the forward movement may change camera angle or pass through the target. Repeat the test in open space and at a boundary. Long multi-hit moves are sensitive to position and latency.

Breathing resource and progression

Raise Breathing Level through unlocked style use and Slayer training, then complete gourd limit breaks at documented multiples of five. Equip the required real blade before diagnosing a skill failure. Refill Breathing in a safe pause rather than at close range.

Common rarity can make Water easier to access, but current odds and roll behavior are not verified. Do not reroll a functional style solely because another card is labeled Legendary or Mythical.

Practical routes to test

For a safe ender, confirm Mopped and accept the knockback. For approach, use Water Wheel only when its path is clear. Against a visible guard, test one of the two guardbreaks and return to defense if it misses. Use Constant Flux after a strong confirmation, then measure whether the final position is safe.

These are testing routes, not guaranteed combos. The Combo guide provides a general method for verifying links on your current server.

Common mistakes

  • Treating Common rarity as automatic weakness.
  • Using Constant Flux at neutral and being interrupted during the string.
  • Forgetting that knockback can end your own pressure.
  • Assuming both hyper-armored guardbreaks have identical timing or safety.
  • Refilling Breathing inside an opponent’s immediate reach.

Sources and confidence

Move names and broad functions are community reported from the SLAYER public Trello Water Breathing card, last activity observed October 26, 2026. Damage, cooldowns, resource costs, armor interactions, odds and current acquisition require in-game testing.
